About the Event
This is the first 'Yoga Jam' of (hopefully) many. Welcome to Psoas edition!
If you are a yoga teacher, (or a really eager to learn student), this workshop is meant for you!Â
We will explore strength, release and even the emotional connections of the Psoas or most commonly known as 'hip flexors'.Â
I struggled with figuring out how to work with tight, stuck hip flexors for a long time. I always had low-back and hamstring issues. Once I started to understand how to work with my body, rather than against it, a lot changed. How I cue around the psoas muscle as it pertains to the whole pelvis is very different!
We will look at some of the most common poses - Downward Dog, Crescent Lunge, Forward Fold.
- What types of positioning do we see? Or what are the tell-tale signs of 'too-tight' or 'too-lax' hip-flexors?
- How can we use our language (no hands on adjustments!) to create different connections or sensations? Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â (This puts the student in the drivers seat of their experience)
- In certain poses, it may not be about 'what is right', but what type of feeling or action you intend to create.Â
And, my favourite part being, diving into the emotional connections of the psoas. You may have heard it named as 'The Muscle of the Soul'. What does this mean and how can we use it to our advantage (for ourselves and students)?
Sign up and join in the discussion!Â
You will have the opportinity to ask questions, and share your ideas too!

This class is part of my new mentorship program! You can read more about it here.
This workshop is part of what I am hoping to create. A place where yoga teachers, new and existing can come together and continue to learn, to share and grow. Yoga studios are changing, the yoga community is seeing big changes, and we have to change and adapt with it.Â
- I want to help you find your voice and what makes you unique
- To not be afraid to show up, or show up in a different way
- Or get you started with a basic website and social media
- (Oh, and some additional things, like Reiki training is coming too!)
I have been teaching for over 10 years, from Toronto to Niagara, with 750hours of training.Â
This is not about tooting my own horrn, but knowing that it is time for me to change too!Â
I plan on teaching less, and sharing everything I have learned over the years with you!
